GIS Application Tool for Mobile Platforms
Plachý, Tomáš ; Kočí, Radek (referee) ; Hrubý, Martin (advisor)
The aim of the thesis is to design and implement a GIS tool for mobile devices. The beginning of the thesis informs about the theoretical background of GIS and mapping. Subsequently, the thesis deals with the concept of a mobile mapping tool. The thesis describes the architecture and processes within the tool, as well as some details regarding its implementation. A mapping of a selected geographical location and a protocol summarising the mapping are also included within the thesis.
GIS Application Tool for Mobile Platforms
Kalčík, Vojtěch ; Smrčka, Aleš (referee) ; Hrubý, Martin (advisor)
This master's thesis with draft of GIS tool for mobile platforms. The resulting program will be adapted for collection of geographic data in the field. The program will work with standard file formats for GIS. High emphasis is put on the control, which is particular for mobile devices with capacitive display. The program will be designed for both smartphone and tablet. Explanation of the mapping principle and description of geographic information systems are also parts of the thesis.
Cadastral map visualization using ArcGIS and QGIS
Šilháček, Ondřej ; Barták, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Moudrý, Vítězslav (referee)
The aim of this work is to create a project in ArcGIS and QGIS that is based on a visualization of a cadastral map in a format for storing vector spatial data: shapefile. Spatial features contained in the map have correctly set vector coordinates, but their style, attributes and properties are in default settings. The task was to configure all the settings to match the style of the cadastral map. The final project was meant to be used as a tool that can be applied to other cadastral maps in default settings in order to change their style into the style of the cadastral maps. Created style was saved as files that contain information about the properties that were configured in shapefiles, but they do not contain spatial data, only the information about their location. Shapefiles were styled according to the cadastral regulation no. 357/2013 Coll. Created project expands possibilities of how cadastral maps can be browsed and it will be used for potential customers of the Czech Office for Surveying, Mapping and Cadastre in Prague who will apply for the cadastral map in shapefiles. Theoretical part contains characterization of ArcGIS, QGIS, possibillities of how cadastral maps can be currently obtained and browsed. Also a brief history of cadastral maps in the territory of the Czech state. As there are no guidelines, which could be used for the cadastral map visualization, the methodology does not contain informations about the process of creating the project, but only instructions that determine how the final project should look like. Results contain detailed informations about the process of creating the project with all partial steps including visualization of shapefiles, saving the project and information how to run the project. At the end of the theoretical part is an evaluation of the user friendliness, pros and cons and the overall view of the work with used programs in the meaning of shapefile visualization.
Vector Analysis in GIS Systems
Kittler, Jan ; Chmelař, Petr (referee) ; Burget, Radek (advisor)
The overall goal of the thesis was to study available geographic information systems (GIS) and to explore the functionality they provide. The implementation was focused on module for vector data creation and data analysis. As examples were used existing systems like GRASS and ArcGIS. The result of this master thesis was a plug-in integrated into the GIS of DELINFO, spol. s r.o. company. The plug-in can open, modify and save vector data in shapefile format. The plug-in is also able to do some basic analysis of the vector data, such as a region intersection, a union, hit tests and a distance measurement. This thesis could be used as a pattern for vector data operations in GIS.

War conflicts and changes in the territorial boundaries in the twentieth century in the ArcGIS programme
KARPÍŠEK, Jaromír
The aim of this paper is to describe the way of creation of cartographic papers in ArcGIS programme. I would like to also mention the display possibilities of the programme and point out potential difficulties in the work with more shapefile layers, grid system, cartographic schemes and as well with the portrayal of the plan which influences the final form of the map essentially. Created cartographic papers show the real historical setout of the territorial integrity in the time and space. Morover the time resolution is able to provide the chance to compare and peep into the emergence of the state boundaries in 20 th century. The result of this paper is the set of historical and geographical maps which can be used not only in history and geography education.
